At the request of companies from various links in the chain, we check and inspect production processes, in which we also test all ingredients, raw materials, additives and business processes for halal worthiness.
We try to keep the costs of halal certification as low as possible, so that we contribute to the affordable availability of halal products.
STEP-BY-STEP-PLAN
1 ANNOUNCE
An application form can be sent to you on request.
2 INTRODUCTORY MEETING
After receiving the completed registration form, there will be a no-obligation introductory meeting.
3 THE CONTRACT
In order to formally start the halal certification, the contract must be signed.
4 HALAL AUDIT
The halal checks are carried out.
5 HALAL CERTIFICATE
After all halal inspections have been successfully completed, the halal certificate is issued.

The actual duration depends on the complexity of your business processes and follow-up and implementation of any required adjustments.
WHAT IS HALAL?
applicable to all facets
Halal is the Arabic word for lawful or permissible. The opposite of halal is haram, which logically means unlawful or forbidden. ‘Halal’ and ‘haram’ are two theological-legal provisions that apply to all facets of life.
PRODUCTS
It may be interesting for you to know which common products are considered by H.I.C. in advance as not halal (haram):
- Pork: meat, fat and all other derivatives;
- Animals that have not been slaughtered in the Islamic way;
- Alcoholic beverages and intoxicants;
- Carnivorous animals, birds of prey and certain other animals;
- Meat from animals that have died spontaneously (old age, accident);
- Certain gelatine, enzymes, emulsifiers and colourings/flavourings made from the above products.
- Blood (excluding blood naturally left in the flesh)
- Foods ‘contaminated’ with any of the above products;
WISHES AND POSSIBILITIES
If you are considering halal certification, H.I.C. can work with you to determine your wishes and possibilities. We look at whether and which products, ingredients and processes need to be adjusted. But not only you are eligible for an audit, your suppliers, if any, must also disclose their product and ingredient specifications. Because they may also have incorporated the above non-halal products into their (semi-)finished products.
ABOUT H.I.C.

H.I.C. facilitates Halal certificates at the request of companies and was one of the first halal certification bodies established in 1985 to meet the increasing demand of the Muslim community for halal certified products.
After a short active period, H.I.C. started to run on the back burner and then from 2004 onwards continued to work on its mission to increase the availability of halal products ”halal in every corner”.
